Designed for Women
The Wave Rider has served as the pinnacle of Mizuno footwear for many years.
With the launch of the women's Wave Rider 15, Mizuno have reverted back to type to maintain and regain the loyal following of this classic running shoe.
The much-heralded adjustments to the Wave Rider 14 didn't gel with all runners - the changes in fit components alienated many Wave Rider loyalists who decided the 14th generation of this popular running shoe was not for them.
With the new and updated Wave Rider 15, Mizuno have decided against the lateral lace tab, and the ankle/achilles collar has been lowered to match the height of the Rider 13.
Additionally, the eye-row stays are back to being parallel, and two new changes brought by the latest reincarnation of the women's Wave Rider are the addition of flex controllers to the forefoot outsole, and a Wave Plate which has been moved slightly higher within the midsole.
This classic running shoe has been created for the moderate neutral to overpronator who wants a blend of cushioning and support.
Air Mesh uppers provide the utmost in breathability and comfort, Dynamotion Fit allows for unparalleled fit while in motion, and an AP midsole offers lightweight, responsive yet durable cushioning.
The Mizuno Intercool ventilation system reduces heat and humidity build-up inside the shoe, and there's VS-1 shock-absorbing cushioning compound in the heel and Composite Parallel Wave engineering for superior shock absorption and dispersion.
An X-10 durable carbon rubber heel allows for longer wear in high-impact areas and supplements traction at heel strike.
