The G20 Cramp-o-Matic from Grivel is a 100% technical crampon, reliable, efficient...and the lightest in the world.
Weighing less than 800 grams a pair, these Cramp-o-Matic Crampons feature a fitting system which involves a nylon speed lever in the rear and a stainless steel front bale to hold the boot.
Quick to put on, these bindings are perfect for plastic mountaineering boots that have a rigid sole and substantial heel and toe welts.
Grivel's own invention, the stainless steel safety strap, is permanently mounted on the front bale and prevents total loss of the crampon should it be forced off the boot.
Their new patented mono-rail technology distributes the 12 points in an efficient and ergonomic way.
Grivel: Forging a Place in History
From a blacksmith’s forge at the foot of the highest mountain in the Alps, Grivel have become world leaders in the manufacture of crampons and ice axes.
The oldest company in existence making equipment for Alpinism and climbing, Grivel began forging agricultural tools in a small, metal-working factory in Courmayeur, near Mount Blanc, in 1810. Nearly 100 years later Henry Grivel commercialised the first crampon prototype, using re-forged railway ties which provided the best-quality steel around.
Today, their Cramp-o-Matic, Air Tech and New Classic crampons, along with Munro, Brenva and Matrix ice axes, are used by climbers and Alpinists everywhere, helping to forge their reputation as masters of their mountain craft.
