The Grivel G12 New-Matic Crampon with Anti-Bott Plate is constructed in a classic 12-point form, making it ideal for general mountaineering, alpinism and rock climbing, as well as moderate waterfall routes.
The four points perpendicular to the crampon rails help to prevent shearing in soft snow, thereby increasing security whilst descending (facing outwards).
One size fits all, and the crampon is fully adjustable by hand with no need for tools. The G12 New-Matic is also easily folded for transportation.
The G12 New-Matic comes with Antibott included.
Grivel: Forging a Place in History
From a blacksmith’s forge at the foot of the highest mountain in the Alps, Grivel have become world leaders in the manufacture of crampons and ice axes.
The oldest company in existence making equipment for Alpinism and climbing, Grivel began forging agricultural tools in a small, metal-working factory in Courmayeur, near Mount Blanc, in 1810. Nearly 100 years later Henry Grivel commercialised the first crampon prototype, using re-forged railway ties which provided the best-quality steel around.
Today, their Cramp-o-Matic, Air Tech and New Classic crampons, along with Munro, Brenva and Matrix ice axes, are used by climbers and Alpinists everywhere, helping to forge their reputation as masters of their mountain craft.
