The Solar Competition 1 is the first true solo backpacker's tent for year-round, lightweight travel, a genuine free-standing tent with a split-pole finish at the foot end for improved stability.
Using the same fabrics as Terra Nova's award-winning Laser Competition, the Solar Competition 1 has a side entrance for easy access to a long porch, and good ventilation thanks to mesh panels in the inner tent.
There are three possible pitching configurations - and weights - for different conditions. Weights are minimums.
- Traditional use (fly and inner) - 978g
- Inner only for hot, dry conditions - 633g
- Fastpack weight (fly only - requires an additional Fastpack footprint) - 665g
This really is a fantastic superlite tent with a small footprint, a one-man - or woman's - dream travelling companion when every gram counts and small pack size is paramount.
