The definitive tent for lightweight travel, the Laser Photon 1 has been updated from the previously-named Laser Photon Elite, and now has an even smaller pack size.
Voted 'Best-in-Test' by Trail Magazine, the Laser Photon 1 is compatible with the Terra Nova FASTPACK system, which allows those who normally want to trim weight to the minimum to add the separate flysheet and groundsheet when necessary.
The Laser Photon pitches flysheet first, and the inner can be left connected, so it is exceptionally quick to erect. The transverse porch creates more usable space than a longitudinal porch, and gives a large entrance as well as providing excellent shelter from the wind.
With a packed weight of just 790 grams, the Laser Photon beats all-comers in the lightweight stakes hands down.
With the same shape and dimensions of the Laser Competition, user-comfort is not compromised, and the Laser Photon 1 will still sleep two if necessary.
New fabrics and pegs create the bulk of the weight-saving, with titanium skewers weighing just 1 gram - exclusive to the Photon.
In another first for Terra Nova, the Laser Photon 1 features a silicon-coated groundsheet, which allows lighter-weight fabrics to be used and still maintain water repellant performance.
Fabric Specifications:
- Watershed SL silicon coated flysheet fabric, with a minimum Hydrostatic Head of 4000mm
- The groundsheet is Waterbloc SL 7000mm with the inner made using 'High Tenacity Nylon 6.6' which is proven to give:

>>better resistance to flex fatigue
>>better tear and abrasion-resistance (up to 500% better than polyester)
>>better bonding to waterproof coatings
>>better strength to weight ratio
