Comfort temp: -17°c
Recommended use: High altitude, winter mountaineering
Rab’s Andes series of sleeping bags are built for extreme mountain conditions.
Filled with European goose down, the Andes offer comparable levels of warmth to their Expedition bags, but in a more performance-orientated shape.
The mummy design not only saves crucial weight, but adds warmth thanks to the lower internal volume of the space that needs to be heated.
The Andes 1000 boasts a water-resistant outer offering extra protection and piece of mind on cold, damp belays, making it ideal for use at altitude when maximum warmth-to-weight and small pack size are paramount.
Weighing in at 1, 655 grams, the Andes 1000 has a comfort rating of -17°c, with an extreme of -49°c.
Perfect for high altitude use and winter mountaineering - and any extended trip in cold conditions - the Andes 1000 features longitude chest baffles and longitude foot baffles to minimise the migration of down.
An internal collar and hood drawcord increases the comfort factor, and there is anti zip snag webbing tape, an angled foot box, and internal YKK 3 coil zipped stash pocket for valuables.
