These approach shoes benefit from two of Hi-Tec's advanced technologies; the V-Lite construction and Ion-Mask.
V-Lite ensures that every gram that can be saved is, making V-lite footwear some of the lightest around, without sacrificing performance or durability...something your feet will definately appreciate at the end of the day.
Ion-Mask is a rather impressvie treatment where the shoes are placed in to vacuum chamber, then something to do with plasma, then a fluoro-carbon treatment is applied...which basically means that every single fibre on the shoe has a waterproof coating 1000 times thinner than human hair.
In reality it means that water just runs off the footwear and isn't absorbed like a standard boot (yes, even gore-tex footwear absorbs water, relying on the membrane to stop it it penetrating further). This 'prevention is better than cure' approach mean that breathability is not as reduced as with membrane protected footwear, and is not as susceptable to damage from toenails, stones in the shoe or friction...all in all, a space-age technology for a shoe-string price!
