A PERFECT FIT - A Guide to Key Features of Scarpa Footwear

Scarpa’s Activ Fit series sets a new benchmark in out-of-the-box comfort.

Leading the way in technical development in the world of walking and climbing footwear, Scarpa have launched a new, innovative range which concentrates on the ergonomically designed outsole, last and footbed.

Focus is firmly on walking and trekking, with a development programme dedicated to setting new standards of comfort, fit and performance.

New Activ Fit insoles incorporate a Viscoflex layer – a moulded, memory foam footbed – a Vibram biometric sole with dynamic TPU shank, and an innovative micro rand.

Speed Lacing

Mini speed lacing also provides incredible cinch.

Built on a new, ergonomic BD last, the Activ Fit collection from Scarpa includes the Ranger II Active and Active GTX, Kinesis Tech GTX, women’s Delta GTX and Mythos.

The all-important last promises perfect hold and increased comfort in the heel area, more volume in the toe area for optimal fit, and better foot rolling in synergy with bio-mechanical parameters.

The bio-metric sole in Scarpa’s technological advances not only offers maximum traction, but also targets rearfoot and forefoot cushioning, along with overall, superior stability.

Active footbeds provide better internal cushioning and lower compression through memory form sock liners, Viscoflex, or a moulded insulating layer.

A heel tension system in Activ Fit technology is applied to the heel area of the upper, providing greater stability and adaptability to the crucial stress areas caused by negotiating steeper routes.

Designed to aid response and avoid torsions, HTS makes walking easier on the toughest of terrains.

Ankle Padding

Ankle padding in Activ Fit is made of memory foam that further improves the self-moulding capabilities of the rear part of the upper.

Comfortable, lightweight and breathable, Scarpa’s ankle padding system enhances the capacity of the upper to adapt itself to the shape of the foot, its ‘dynamic’ memory recovering the original shape after every use.

Finally, V-Flex engineering has redefined the egonomic effect of the upper on the ankle flex area.

Active Fit technology allows a wider and more natural movement of the foot, improving overall comfort especially when walking on steep routes with a heavy pack.

The upper, in synergy with the lacing system, wraps the foot in an optimal way to offer maximum support.

Active Fit Scarpa boots are tailor-made for trails, fells and mountains, bringing a new level of performance to the classic rambling footwear of yesteryear

The Scarpa Story

A company whose origins began with an English nobleman in Italy has gone on to become a family-run firm renowned for some of the most well-made, classic hiking footwear in the world.

Today, skilled artisans in Montebelluna in north east Italy continue a heritage that began nearly 75 years ago, when the Societ Calzaturiera Asolana Riunita Pedemontana Anonima was born – more commonly known as Scarpa and which translates into English as the Associated Shoe Manufacturing Company of the Asolo Mountains.

Spearheaded in the 1940s by young Luigi Parisotto, who learned his trade from the age of just 11 under the tutorship of master craftsmen, Scarpa have gone from strength to strength since the days when local landowner Lord Rupert Iveagh began the business simply to bring native leather-processing skills to a wider audience.

From producing a mere four or five pairs of boots for local farm folk each gruelling, 14-hour day, Scarpa are now trusted by customers all over the world. By combining a history of valued tradition with modern, cutting edge technology, they have brought one of the most copied and sought-after ranges of outdoor footwear and climbing shoes to the international market.
