Founded in 2002 and based in New Hampshire, relative newcomers to the tent market Nemo have created quite a stir thanks to some truly revolutionary design.
Cam Brensinger started Nemo Equipment with the intention of bringing high-level design and engineering to the outdoor industry, and their location was ideal with quick access to both an ample testing ground in the White Mountains, and the prestigious facilities of RISD and MIT.
Nemo is a New Hampshire company which in a short time has gained a reputation for quality tents and outdoor equipment.
Nemo’s Zor and Tuo Standard camping mats are low weight, insulated sleeping mattresses, ideal for the minimalist trekker and backpacker – both roll up to only slightly larger than a one litre water bottle – while the three-season Obi Elite and Obi 2P tents are equally lightweight and packable for one and two people respectively.
Less than ten years in the making, Nemo camping equipment is an award-winning company which has worked with the NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts, creating concept shelters based on highly-mobile and quickly-deployable, retractable architectural designs.
Nemo's pioneering AST - Air Supported Tent - range is groundbreaking, but their design pedigree has now expanded to perfecting more conventional tents as well as inflating camping mats. Nemo consistently pick up some of the highest awards the outdoor trade has to offer.
