Voluntary Recall of Kenta Child Carriers
Dear VAUDE Customers
VAUDE is announcing a voluntary product recall for Kenta and Kenta Plus Child Carriers. We have determined that a manufacturing defect exists in Production Year 2010 models, which in some cases could lead to a safety issue.
Due to an incorrectly sewn strap, the lateral load positioner could tear out under a heavy load, which would lead to less effective side stabilization. In worst case the child can fall out of the carrier and can be injured. After thoroughly examining the problem, VAUDE has decided to make a voluntary recall of all Kenta carriers to eliminate the risk of this happening.
VAUDE vouches for the quality and safety for all its products. Our child carriers are designed according to strict criteria, tested and approved by TÜV Süd and subject to further internal quality controls. VAUDE is aware of an even higher duty of care when it comes to products such as children carriers. To eliminate any risk to the user, we are recalling all Kenta an Kenta Plus models that have been on the market since 2011 as an extra precaution.

This voluntary recall involves only the child carrier models Kenta (Article Nr. 10427) and Kenta Plus (10428) in the colors red/vinered (color number 259), l’ brown/mocca (color number 697) and black (color number 010).
The product name is printed on the back of the carrier.
Other VAUDE child carriers have not been affected by this defect in workmanship.
If you own one of the Kenta child carriers affected, you are kindly requested to return it immediately to an official VAUDE dealer as the recall is being organized through our dealers. All of our dealers have been fully informed in order to assure a smooth transaction. In return, we are offering a replacement, free of charge, with a similar model.
A service hotline has been established for additional questions regarding the recall, identification and management. Information about the recall can also be found at our website at kenta.vaude.com.
